Tasting Notes
Ty Braddy, International Wines
Yard Dogs White $11.75
Chardonnay(55%), Sauv. Blanc(15%), Riesling(15%), Semillon(10%), Viognier(5%)
An expressive floral, citrus, and peach-scented perfume. This intriguing blend is dry, forward, tasty, and nicely balanced.
Bulletin Place Chardonnay $10.25
A delicate feminine Chardonnay, exciting in that it has more nuance than you would expect for an inexpensive wine. The nose offers pretty citrus and olive scents, and it tastes a little like lemon pannacotta, dusted with some chalk. Mouth feel has a viscous, round texture.
Pillar Box Red $12.50
Pillar Box Red is 50% Shiraz, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Merlot aged in a mix of used French and American oak. Purple-colored, it offers an enticing, fruity nose including aromas of cassis, black cherry, black raspberry, and blueberry. Full-bodied, ripe, and layered with flavor, this wine totally over-delivers on my hedonist's meter. Drink this awesome value over the next 2-3 years."
Peter Lehmann Cabernet Sauvignon $16.25 A softly textured Cabernet with good fruit flavors beautifully balanced by the fine-grained tannins and the subtle undertones of fully integrated oak. Food pairings: This Cabernet is a wonderful accompaniment to richer red meat dishes and is particularly good with duck.
Nine Stones Barossa Shiraz $14
The wine is powerful with layers of ripe blackberries, dark cherries and luscious chocolate, mocha and macerated fruit characters.
