POOL RULES and REGULATIONS

DECATUR COUNTRY CLUB

2010 SUMMER SEASON

 

First and foremost - please familiarize yourself with the 2010 published Pool Hours of Operation, as well as the Lifeguard and Swim at your own Risk Schedule.

 

 ALL MEMBERS MUST SIGN IN AT THE LIFEGUARD STAND PRIOR TO ENTERING THE POOL, AND MUST HAVE THE APPROPRIATE MEMBER POOL TAG ON YOUR PERSON.

 

In-town Guests:

  1. An "in-town" guest: is considered as a person living in Morgan County or within a contiguous county (i.e. Cullman, Limestone, Madison, Winston or Lawrence).  In-town family members (Immediate Family only - Father, Mother, Son, or Daughter) as defined in the By-laws are not charged.  All other in-town family members are considered guests, and the customary fees apply.
  2. No guest will be allowed to use the Pool facilities without arrangements first being made with the Pool Manager on Duty - guests will be issued a guest tag, and they must be worn at all times, and returned upon end of day's visit - please see ""  Pool Tags""   listed below.  Members may bring a different guest Monday through Friday.
  3. A fee of $5.00 per guest will be charged to the Club Member making the reservation.
  4. A penalty fee of $5.00 per guest will be charged to the Club Member who does not register all guests.
  5. An in-town guest may use the Pool facilities only 6 times during the Summer Season.
  6. Any in-town guest(s) is prohibited from using the Pool facilities on weekends and holidays.
  7. Member Grandparents are allowed to bring their in-town grandchildren on an unlimited basis - however, the Guest Fee of $5.00 per guest/visit will apply.  The Member Grandparent must accompany their grandchild(ren) for the duration of their stay... no child may be dropped off and be left to the supervision of others.

Out-of-town House Guests:

  1. An "out-of-town house guest" is a person whose principal place of residence is located in a county which is not contiguous to Morgan County.
  2. Out-of-town house guests may use the Pool facilities at any time.
  3. Club Members must make proper arrangements for all guests.
  4. Out-of-town family or house guests - NO CHARGE.

 

 Pool Tags:

  1. Pool Tags, as mentioned above, are required to be worn at all times by both Members and Guests.  The cost of the tags will be $1.00 per Member per tag required... Guest tags are required, however, no tag fee will be imposed.
  2. Any Guest Tag that has not been returned - lost or stolen - there will be a fee of $10.00 charged to the respective Members account.

Private Parties:

  1. A fee of $5.00 per "non-member guest" will be charged.  Reservations must be made with the Pool Manager a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested date.
  2. No private parties will be allowed on weekends or holidays.

General Facility Rules:

  1. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult!
  2. No Running!
  3. No horseplay, dunking, shoving, wrestling, popping towels, chicken fights in the pool area.
  4. Diving is only allowed in the diving area.
  5. Stay off of ropes and away from slide equipment.
  6. No flips or back dives from the side of the pool.
  7. Only one person at a time may occupy the slide (Elementary age children only)
  8. No tennis balls, footballs, Frisbees, baseballs or other toys allowed in pool (only soft, inflatable items will be allowed).
  9. No loitering in the parking lot.
  10. Proper swim attire is required at all times (parents and children) - no cut-offs, street clothes, shoes, etc.
  11. Fins are allowed in the water only - not on the deck.
  12. Profanity or lewd behavior of any kind will constitute an immediate request to leave the premises.
  13. Public displays of affection (romantic activity) will not be tolerated!

 

Diving Rules:

  1. No sitting or loitering on diving board.
  2. No cartwheels or handstands from the diving board.
  3. Flips or back dives from the board are only allowed by capable patrons.
  4. Only one person allowed on the board and steps at a time.
  5. No swimming or loitering in the diving well...all divers must immediately swim to the nearest ladder and exit the diving well.
  6. Parents are not allowed to catch swimmers diving from the board.
  7. Any child requiring rings or floats are not allowed to dive from the board - a full life jacket is required, and the child must be directly supervised by their parent - they, too, must immediately exit the diving well.
  8. No floats are allowed in the diving area.
  9. No masks or fins allowed while diving from the board - allowed only in the swimming area.

Miscellaneous:

  1. Each time a rule is broken a 10 minute time-out will be issued.  If one is required more than 3 times to enter a time-out - this individual will be asked to leave the Pool for the balance of the day...any attempts to return will be monitored.
  2. Only elementary school-aged children and younger may use the pool slide.
  3. Cups from the Snack Bar may not be played with in the Pool.
  4. No glass beverage containers allowed in the pool complex at any time.
  5. All children under the age of 12 must have adult supervision while using the Pool facilities.  Should your child be left with a sitter, the sitter must be registered with the Pool Manager, and he or she must remain in the Pool area for the duration of your child's stay.
  6. When no Lifeguard is on duty (Swim at your own Risk) children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult - see posted Pool Hours for all designated times for "Swim at your own Risk."
